Track 3 · Building your plans
Add-ons — extras attached to memberships
Recurring extra services a member can attach on top of their plan.

Step 1 of 3
Open the Addons Builder
In Settings → Addons Builder, click Create New Addon.
Click the highlighted area or Next to continue · use ← → keys
Add-ons are recurring extra services a member can attach on top of their plan — for example a whitening top-up, a take-home oral-hygiene kit, or any product you bill monthly alongside the membership fee.
You build them in Settings → Addons Builder.
Why use add-ons vs new plans
Anything that doesn't change the underlying plan but adds a regular extra charge belongs as an add-on rather than as a separate plan. Add-ons:
- Stack on top of any membership a member is already on
- Show as a discrete line item in the patient's pricing summary at sign-up (Addons Fee)
- Can be added or removed mid-membership without restarting the member's plan
The form
Mirrors the Membership Builder but slimmer — same three tabs (Profile / Benefits / Terms), simpler Profile shape:
Profile tab
- Name — what staff and patients see (e.g. "Take-home whitening trays")
- Locations — which clinics offer this add-on
- Description — up to 500 characters
- Price and Frequency — same Weekly / Fortnightly / Monthly / Annually toggles. No setup fee or dates field — add-ons are simpler than full plans
Benefits tab
Lists what the add-on includes, same shape as the Membership Builder.
Terms tab
Lock-in period and any specific T&Cs that apply just to this add-on.
Save and offer
Press Save. The add-on appears in the Addons Builder list and is offered to patients alongside their plan in the Add New Member wizard. On the wizard's pricing card, it shows in the Monthly Fee → Addons Fee breakdown row.
Examples to consider
A good add-on is recurring, low effort for you to deliver, and high perceived value for the patient. Ideas, grouped by type:
Cosmetic & aesthetic
- Whitening top-up — periodic take-home gel refills or an in-chair touch-up
- Whitening gel resupply — just the gel syringes shipped quarterly (a cheaper, product-only version)
- Anti-wrinkle / facial aesthetics — a recurring allowance toward anti-wrinkle (botox) treatments for clinics that offer them
Protection & appliances
- Sports mouthguard renewal — annual refit for athletic members
- Night guard care — annual reline or replacement of an occlusal splint for bruxism patients
- Retainer replacement program — an annual replacement set for post-ortho patients (very sticky)
Products & supplies (shipped)
- Premium oral-care kit — branded toothbrush + toothpaste + floss + interdental, shipped quarterly
- Electric toothbrush heads — replacement heads every three months
- Sensitivity / high-fluoride toothpaste — a stronger paste resupplied on a cycle
- Interdental & floss resupply — a small, consumables-only option
Care-frequency upgrades
- Extra hygiene visit — one additional clean a year beyond the plan's allowance
- Extra check-up + X-ray — for higher-risk patients who want closer monitoring
- Hygienist priority recall — proactive recall reminders and booking
Peace of mind
- Insurance gap cover — a small recurring fee that covers the gap on a nominated service
- Emergency cover add-on — adds emergency / after-hours visits and triage access on top of the base plan
- Family oral-care kit — a kids' kit shipped for plans that include dependents
Keep your live catalogue small (around 3–5 at a time) so staff can recall them at sign-up without checking the screen — pick the ones that fit your patient base and rotate as you learn what sells.
A quick compliance note: word access-based add-ons (like emergency cover) as visits or access, not insurance, and avoid any wording that promises a guaranteed clinical outcome.
